BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THE EXISTENCE OF TRANSNATIONAL CORPORATIONS ON THE GLOBAL MARKET
Abstract
This article examines the role of transnational corporations (hereinafter TNCs) in the modern world, particularly their influence on the globalized market. The main issue discussed in the article is the legal activity of transnational corporations and their advantages over small and medium-sized firms. The article examines the legal aspects of the activities of TNCs, their ability to avoid taxes, regulation, and influence on legislation. The influence of foreign investments on different regions of the world is also considered. In particular, the article analyzes which foreign investments through TNCs affect the economy of various countries and regions, and how the economies of underdeveloped countries suffer from transnational corporations, having great dependence on the developed countries of the world. The article also discussed the activities of the world's largest corporations: Coca-Cola, Toyota Motor Corporation, Volkswagen Corporation, Nestle and others. The author researched which areas of activity are the costliest for national corporations, as well as which factors affect their profitability. It was also analyzed how much the profits of the world's largest corporations were in 2023. Next, the income of the United States from foreign direct investment is considered. The author analyzed the amount of US direct investment received through TNCs and their direct impact on the American economy. The last important aspect that was investigated in the article is the influence of transnational corporations on the economy of Ukraine. The article examines how the activities of TNCs affect the development and competitiveness of the Ukrainian market. There is a trend of dependence of the Ukrainian economy on cheap products of transnational corporations. However, on the other hand, it was found that transnational corporations support the economy of Ukraine by providing jobs. Summarizing everything, the author emphasized that transnational corporations are not monopolists, but their activities have a significant impact on the global market and the economy of all countries of the world.
