STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS FOR ATTRACTING INVESTMENTS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS INDUSTRY
Abstract
The article examines the strategic directions for attracting investments in the development of the transport and logistics sector, which is a crucial component of the national economy. The study highlights the essential role of transport and logistics infrastructure in ensuring economic competitiveness, integrating national logistics networks into international corridors, and stimulating sustainable socio-economic development. It is emphasized that the current state of the sector is characterized by significant wear and tear of infrastructure, limited financial resources, and institutional challenges, which together constrain investment activity and slow down modernization processes. The research identifies key barriers to investment, including outdated transport facilities, fragmented logistics chains, insufficient use of public-private partnership mechanisms, and low implementation of innovative and digital solutions. At the same time, the study outlines strategic approaches to enhance investment inflows, such as improving the regulatory and institutional framework, promoting public-private partnerships, engaging international financial institutions, and integrating sustainable development and ESG principles into transport and logistics projects. Furthermore, the article stresses the importance of directing investments toward the modernization of transport infrastructure, development of logistics hubs and transport corridors, and improving energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in the sector. The proposed strategic directions aim to increase the sector's investment attractiveness, foster long-term economic growth, and ensure the resilience and efficiency of transport and logistics systems. It was emphasized that improving strategic directions for attracting investments in the transport and logistics industry involves optimizing the regulatory and legal environment, developing public-private partnerships, attracting international investors, and introducing innovative and «green» technologies. It is indicated that the integration of sustainable development and ESG principles into the planning of infrastructure projects will ensure increased investment attractiveness of the industry, efficiency of logistics systems, and long-term competitiveness of the economy.
