STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT TOOLS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES BASED ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE CONTEXT OF A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Abstract
The purpose of the study is to substantiate and systematize strategic management tools for the development of agricultural enterprises based on social responsibility under the conditions of a circular economy. Particular attention is paid to integrating economic, environmental and social priorities into strategic decision-making. The research is based on the methods of analysis and synthesis, comparison, generalization, systematization, and structural and logical modelling. These methods were used to identify the main approaches to strategic management and circular economy implementation, determine the directions of transformation of traditional management tools, and develop a conceptual model for their integrated application in agricultural enterprises. The study systematizes key strategic management tools, including SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, benchmarking, scenario planning, the Balanced Scorecard and strategic audit, and substantiates their adaptation to circular economy principles. It is determined that strategic management should incorporate resource efficiency, waste minimization, environmental performance and stakeholder interests. The social dimension is strengthened through responsible treatment of employees, cooperation with local communities, consideration of consumer interests and responsible interaction with business partners. The need to integrate digital technologies, traceability systems, ESG indicators, resource-flow monitoring, precision agriculture, IoT and artificial intelligence into strategic management is substantiated. A conceptual model of strategic management transformation is proposed, integrating circular economy principles, social responsibility, digital monitoring, ESG assessment and strategic audit. This approach enables comprehensive assessment of economic efficiency, environmental sustainability, social value and enterprise competitiveness. The proposed approaches can be applied by agricultural enterprises in developing, implementing and adjusting long-term development strategies. Their implementation will contribute to more efficient resource use, reduction of production losses and waste, strengthening of social responsibility, improvement of ESG performance and formation of sustainable competitive advantages. The findings are particularly relevant to the modernization and post-war recovery of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
