DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOR MARKET IN THE ERA OF GLOBALIZATION: MIGRATION MANIFESTATIONS
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the development of the international labor market in the context of globalization and to assess the impact of migration processes on the transformation of labor resources across various regions of the world. The research methodology combines a comprehensive analysis of statistical data from international organizations, including the International Labour Organization (ILO), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and World Bank, with a review of scientific publications, migration reports, and a comparative analysis of trends and structures of labor flows over the last two decades. The study also systematically examines the key factors affecting the mobility of workers in the global labor market, including economic, technological, demographic, and policy-related determinants. The results demonstrate that globalization significantly increases the mobility of labor resources, facilitates the integration of highly skilled professionals, and creates both opportunities and challenges for labor market development worldwide. It is shown that international migration leads to structural imbalances between labor-exporting (donor) and labor-importing (recipient) countries, contributes to the «brain drain» phenomenon, reshapes the global human capital landscape, and influences wage structures and employment patterns. Furthermore, the study highlights the growing importance of digitalization, transnational corporations, and new forms of remote work as drivers of global labor mobility. The practical significance of the research lies in providing evidence-based recommendations for improving international migration policies, managing labor flows efficiently, and strengthening human capital development strategies at the global level. The findings can inform policymakers, international organizations, employers, and academic researchers interested in sustainable, balanced, and inclusive development of the international labor market under conditions of economic globalization.
