ACCEPTANCE OF UNCERTAINTY AS A NORM OF RESILIENCE OF MODERN ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract
The article examines resilience as a key business competency under conditions of radical uncertainty. Resilience is interpreted as an integral capability to withstand disruptive impacts, rapidly restore operations, and strengthen competitive positions. A comparative analysis of resilience interpretations is conducted, identifying three main approaches reflected in the Western literature: resilience and recovery; adaptation and renewal; anticipation and proactivity. In contrast, domestic studies emphasize the transformation of business models and draw a distinction between resilience and traditional stability. The aim of the article is to provide a theoretical and practical synthesis of resilience as a strategic business competency under conditions of radical uncertainty, while placing stronger emphasis on uncertainty as a norm of business resilience and a critical element of contemporary practical business models. A conceptual model of an adaptive closed-loop resilience cycle is proposed, consisting of four interrelated components: risk forecasting, protection, adaptation, and integration. The model highlights the cyclical nature of adaptability and the continuous improvement of business models in the face of uncertainty. The study employs methods of theoretical analysis and synthesis, as well as comparative analysis to explore the essence of resilience and the concept of uncertainty; modelling is used to develop the adaptive resilience cycle model; and an illustrative method is applied to demonstrate the practical implementation of the theoretical findings. The article presents modern innovative business management models that incorporate uncertainty as both a factor and a norm for ensuring resilience. Furthermore, innovative management models are examined in practice, where uncertainty is leveraged as a driving force of resilience. The proposed analysis demonstrates how the closed-loop model and the implementation of resilience programs address key business gaps by embedding uncertainty into management models, while resilience itself becomes a strategic choice for achieving antifragility.
